The choices we make today can help shape the world we leave for future generations.
That idea is at the heart of ‘Intact, intelligent action.’ NTT DATA’s global initiative designed to help turn sustainability commitments into meaningful action by combining awareness, technology and stewardship.
Antarctica will be the first chapter of this initiative. In November, a dozen NTT DATA employees will join polar explorer Swan and more than 60 business and community leaders for an experience focused on sustainability, climate leadership, innovation and the role technology can play in addressing environmental challenges. The expedition also marks the 40th anniversary of Robert's original South Pole expedition.
A distinctive symbol will connect every chapter of the initiative: an open-frame flag created from small, meaningful pieces of fabric contributed by people around the world and sewn together into a single patchwork frame.
In Antarctica, expeditioners will raise the “flag” on the ice to frame the landscape, then remove it to symbolize a commitment to keeping the continent intact. The frame will later travel to other locations as the Intact initiative expands.
Led by Costa, Chief Sustainability Business Officer and Head of Sustainability Innovation at NTT DATA, the initiative is about helping accelerate the move from sustainability commitments to actions that support the planet.
