The latest GoDaddy data breach used a compromised password to get access to their systems exposing data on 1.2 million customers.

According to the Verizon 2021 Data Breach Investigations Report, credentials are the primary means by which a bad actor hacks into an organization, with 61% of breaches attributed to leveraged credentials.

The web host said an unauthorized person used a compromised password to get access to GoDaddy's systems.

Popular Trading App Robinhood received an extortion demand after a data breach exposed the personal information of 7 million users.

Robinhood went public on the Nasdaq with a 32 billion valuation in July 2021. The breach has caused their stock to drop 3.1% in after-hours trading.

Data security has become one of the biggest and most costly concerns for businesses.
