Would you run your own AI if you generated your own power?

On our latest GRIDWISE episode, we looked at why generation companies may end up running their own models with Jim Smelley and Matthew Goldman. Utilities already sit on massive telemetry from lines, transmission centers, and plants. Making sense of it with sophisticated AI is expensive, and the best way to control that cost is to run the models internally.

The companies that own the power and the data may be best positioned to own the models too.
