When I tell people I’m a lobbyist, I usually get one of two reactions: a blank stare or a look that suggests I steal candy from babies for a living.

Despite what Hollywood movies or the mainstream media tell you, we don't spend our days carrying briefcases full of cash down dark alleys.

In reality, lobbyists are just professional problem solvers. Think of us as a mix between a government translator, a corporate bodyguard, and a political GPS.

If you've ever dealt with a government entity, you know things can get weird. Here is what we actually do to help businesses, non-profits, and regular people every day:

Here’s where we expect the busiest times/areas:

- Friday, Sept. 4 expect around 30 minute delays on Southbound I-15 from Spanish Fork to Nephi (busiest after 3 p.m.)

- Monday, Sept. 7 expect around 40 minute delays on westbound US-6 from Solider Summit to Spanish Fork, (busiest after 2 p.m.)

- Monday, Sept. 7 expect around 60 minute delays on Northbound I-15 from Nephi to Spanish Fork (busiest after 5 p.m.)

Recognize this hot air balloon from the Freedom Festival in Provo last week?

It is a crowd favorite and frequently photographed.

And this hot air balloon also happens to belong to our own Curt Bramble, principal for the Lockhart Group.

The balloon is called the Eagle : We The People. Curt and his wife Susan spent years designing it until they got it perfect. It features a majestic bald eagle with a flag behind it and the bottom area has images of Mount Timpanogos, Lake Powell, and Delicate Arch.
