Beech Hill Farm

Beech Hill Farm Conveniently located in Westchester County, 35min from NYC. Offering boarding, lessons, shareboarding Beech Hill Farm was started in 1960 by John Schrader Sr.

and has been family run and operated ever since. Now being run by John Sr.'s son John Jr, and his wife Marlene von Hagen. In addition to boarding services for privately owned horses, we have a number of quality horses available for share boarding; with part time, half and full leases available. We have a diverse lesson program and quality instructors who have the experience to work with beginners

through the most advanced riders. Our well trained school horses and ponies can accommodate most levels and disciplines of riding, including western, hunt seat, dressage and trail riding. Our property adjoins the beautiful Rockefeller Estate and Rockefeller State Park Preserve, which has over 150 miles of beautifully manicured carriage trails for both riding and driving. The trails extend from Pleasantville all the way through neighboring Tarrytown, and many of the trails have beautiful views of the Hudson River. We do On-Premise Pony Parties on Sundays. A booking includes pony rides, a tour of our barn and animals, an outdoor space for setting up food/decorations/etc (we only provide space and picnic tables), and a craft for each child. We also offer a summer camp program as well as a variety of competitive opportunities.

30 years ago we bought a pony. And she was SASSY, beautiful, opinionated, and kept us all on our toes. She was perfect!

In those 30 years she taught HUNDREDS of kids how to ride, how to have patience, why a 35” pony needed 2 or more people to bathe her, how to be true horsemen and women, and how to dodge a bite.
We are so grateful to have witnessed all the joy she brought to so many kids. To watch the kids who got their first taste of horses on her, grow up, and then bring their kids to have their first experience on the same pony.
Our grandkids even got to love her as well.

Last night we had to say goodbye to our Rosie pony. We are happy to know she’s joining all that went before her, and is running pain free and happy. We will forever love you Rosie ❤️
