Our friends at Rosholt School District lost their first high school to a fire in July of 1948. For the next three years, classes were held in the Rosholt Community Hall on the Portage County Fair Grounds - Rosholt, WI. That did not mean the School District stopped working to reestablish its own space. By winter of 1951, the district was able to move into the current High School.

The attached photo, taken in September of 1951, appeared in the Stevens Point Journal during the push to complete the building

, Lee Kluckis is working on behalf of the Portage County Fair Grounds - Rosholt, WI to get their original exhibit building on the National Registry of Historic Places.

As part of this process, Lee has developed a historical narrative about the building. One of the more interesting chapters was the period from 1948-1951, when the Community Hall served as the primary high school of the Rosholt School District!

Lee has found some pictures of the school days at Hill Park!

From the day it was built in 1926, various national, regional, and local acts have called the Rosholt Community Hall at Portage County Fair Grounds - Rosholt, WI home.

One of the more interesting acts appeared in 1932. That year, longtime Chautaqua performer, Noah Beilharz brought his one man show of various characters to the hall.

Beilharz began his career in 1902 and toured all over North America.
