🚨No Bull alert!
Is everyone on board with your vision for the future of your business?

You might say "who cares?" Fair, but you'll be saving yourself a lot of extra work if everyone is on board and feels that they play a role in this vision.

I've seen business owners make plans for major growth, and when I've spoken to the team about their feelings on the changes I heard things like;

🚨"Why do we have to grow? We're doing so well now!"

🚨"I joined this firm because it was small, and had a small team. I don't know what I'll do if we grow and bring on more employees"

🚨"This is going to increase my workload and I'm already slammed, I'm going to start looking for another position"

We need to include our teams in the process. They will often provide invaluable insight into potential roadblocks with big changes within our organization.

⭐️People are the X factor in every organization. Committed and capable individuals can elevate your firm beyond expectation, create incredible experiences for clients and teammates, and propel earnings. But on the flip side, disengaged, unwilling, and unable employees will drag your organization into the ground. Arguably, your “people” decisions will either MAKE or BREAK your organization and many leaders don’t have a clue how to tell which way they will go.

"I feel we are better positioned for sustainable growth now, as a "Firm", vs. the solo-putz's that will eventually bury themselves as I did."

This is what a business owner said to us shortly after a 3-month engagement he had with Noble Co a couple of years ago. These are strong words....

Before we connected he viewed himself as a "solo putz" he even said this in our initial conversation. This was tough to hear, as he had a successful practice for many years with great clients and in a great location surrounded by a team of employees. I was really surprised to hear him say this. But it was his perception, he felt like he was tail spinning.

💡So what caused him to change his perception?
His firm size did not change. The number of employees did not change.
We applied an organizing framework around his goals for the business. We worked with him as a co-pilot to thread the vision and work through the organization.
👆🏻 This changed his view from being a "solo-putz" to a FIRM prepared for sustainable growth.

Most of the time our work does not require huge overhauling of years and years of effort. Often it's pointing out the blindspots, providing clarity, and supporting in the work necessary for growth.

Happy Work Anniversary to Noble Co Senior Project Manager Brianna Driscoll (Best)!

Brianna has been vital to not only the support we provide to our clients but also to the buildout and success of Noble Co over the last year.
Her ability to codify our vision into a reality is exactly what we needed and we could not be happier to have her on the team and continue to grow with us!😁

🥂Cheers to you and what's to come this year!

💞On this Valentine's day we're reflecting on Legacy and Love.....💕

Only 34% of advisors have a succession plan in place, which means they balance is either waiting for the "right time" to start planning or they plan to work forever.

But what if you're forever comes sooner than expected? What condition is the business you own in and what will that look like for your family once you're gone?

Without a clear plan for our business, it can have far-reaching consequences, not only for our loved ones but also for the legacy we've worked so hard to build.

So whether you plan to leave your business as a legacy to your family or not show them you love them by getting the systems and processes in place to not leave them with a hot mess 😉

🚨No-Bull alert!

Successful businesses that want to experience growth hire from the top down.
So instead of asking yourself if 1 more entry level person will get you where you need to be,
Try asking yourself what your growth might look like if you hired someone at an executive level..
What if that next hire was an extension of yourself and looked at the business as if it were their own and their skillset complimented yours?

An entry-level hire is going to help you in the short term but they are not going to be looking for ways to grow your business, make new connections and carry on your vision like a C-level employee will.

Making this investment up front will carry you a lot further in your growth goals. The good news is there are many options for hiring this work fractionally. The investment will be at a fraction of the cost and you will get an instant partner to see your vision through!

Dan Campbell says a lot that resonates with us but this was the best in our opinion.
Culture is so important, and in this case maybe the most important.

Risking that is not worth it to him and where this team plans to go…..

We need to audit our teams and make sure their vision aligns with that of the company. Understand the role they play within the team and do they continue to bring that same energy as you move forward.

You know what they say, one bad apple…

What is your business missing? Do you have blindspots preventing you from the growth you desire and know you are capable of? Maybe a discussion about fractional support is what you need.

Step 5:
When goal setting consider how this will affect your Health and Happiness.

When you hit these goals, how will it affect your personal and professional life?
Consider what things might change for you, your family, and your team.

Then involve the people, that you striving for these goals, will affect. Share in your successes and losses along the way!!

Goal setting should be an exciting process! Make sure you are having fun, because why are we doing all of this if we're not having fun?!

Step 4: Timeline

Now that we have identified the goals, relevance, potential obstacles and work to be done we need to create a timeline and plan for everyone who needs to be involved.

Before we go through assigning roles and determining how we are going to reach our goals we need to understand our highest point of contribution within the business. What are the areas that we need to be most present and what are some tasks that we should assign to team members or outsource?

The timeline is crucial when it comes to us actually hitting the goals that we set for ourselves.
We often hear firms say they want to double revenue in the next 2-3 years....but what does that mean? What are the benchmarks? What does the timeline for hitting these goals look like?
You must be clear about your timeline in order for your goals to be realistic.

Work Work Work Work Work......

You've identified your goals and understand their relevance to the big picture. You've identified the ⚠️obstacles that may get in your way

Step 3 is the Work 💼

WHAT WORK ARE YOU WILLING TO DO?

Consider your goals..
🚨What’s working to propel you forward? (What should you continue doing?)

🚨What are you doing that isn’t bringing a return on effort? (What should you consider stopping?)

🚨What have you considered doing that would help move things forward faster? (What do you need to START doing?)

When you consider starting something new, think about your Energy around this new activity (is it something you'll enjoy doing) the Impact that the activity will have on your business and the Effort required on behalf of yourself or team to get it done. Who is the right person for the job, it may not be you.

"Goal Setting for Goal Getting"

Now that you've identified your personal and professional goals for 2024 and considered their relevance to the big picture you can move on to
Step 2.

What are the ⚠️ Obstacles that might get in the way of you reaching these goals?
Think about times when you may have self-sabotaged in the past....
Are there things that you need to stop doing in order to reach these goals?
And is there something that you must start doing?

Obstacles can come in different forms, it might not always be something we have control over. But if we can identify the "what ifs" ahead of time we can strategize better and allow us to not get derailed when one of these obstacles pops up!
