It’s the most exciting, busiest, and yes, craziest time of year around the Cooper Ranch! 🍇

As the grapes begin to reach their peak, our team is in the vineyards every day, monitoring sugar levels and watching for that perfect moment when the fruit is ready to come off the vine.

At the start of August, we kicked off harvest by bringing in fruit for some of our clients. Now, the excitement continues as we prepare to start harvesting grapes for our own wines this week.

Stay tuned for a behind the scenes look at harvest. We can’t wait to see what the 2026 vintage will bring!🍷

Part 3 of our Cooper Family Fair History Series🎡

The Amador County Fair has always been a family tradition, and this year is no exception.

Dick Cooper’s great-granddaughters, Cooper and Peyton, have been busy showing horses, raising and exhibiting livestock, and selling their animals through the Junior Livestock Auction.

This year also marks a special milestone for Cooper Cheetham. After serving as the 2025 Miss Amador County Fair Rodeo Queen, she took her final lap around the Benny Brown Arena on Saturday night, passing the crown to the next queen. She also competed in the Miss Amador County Pageant, earning the title of 2026 Miss Amador!👑

The Cooper family legacy could be found throughout the fairgrounds. On Friday evening, Cooper Wines proudly poured our award-winning wines at the Amador County Fair Wine Tasting, sharing a taste of the vineyard with our community.🍷

Inside the General Mercantile, Jennifer’s hard work on the Shenandoah Community Club booth earned a First Place ribbon. At the front of Pokerville Hall, Rochelle’s Cooper Wines window display also received First Place honors in the window decorating competition.🏆

From the show ring and pageant stage to community exhibits and award-winning wines, we’re honored to continue a tradition that celebrates agriculture, family, and the community we love.

Part 2 of our Cooper Family Fair History Series🎡

What began with Ruth and Dick Cooper’s dedication to the Amador County Fair grew into a multi-generational tradition that continues today.

Over the years, Dick Cooper’s four daughters and great-grandchildren have proudly carried on the family’s involvement. From raising livestock for the Junior Livestock Auction and decorating community booths and windows to pouring wine at the Fair Wine Tasting and simply making memories together on the fairgrounds, the fair has always been a special part of the Cooper family story.

For our family, the Amador County Fair is about more than exhibits and events. It’s about celebrating agriculture, supporting our community, and spending time together—values that continue to inspire everything we do at Cooper Vineyards.

We’re grateful to be part of a tradition that has brought generations of our family, and our community, together.

Part 1 of our Cooper Family Fair History Series🎡

It’s Amador County Fair week, and we’re celebrating the Cooper family’s deep-rooted connection to one of our community’s most cherished traditions.

The Cooper family’s fair history spans generations. Ruth Cooper served as Secretary of the Amador County Fair from 1938 to 1941, laying the foundation for a lasting family legacy.

Following in his mother’s footsteps, Dick Cooper became the youngest manager in Amador County Fair history when he took the role at just 26 years old, serving from 1966 to 1971. During his time, he helped shape the fairgrounds in ways that are still enjoyed today. His vision brought the primitive sawmill demonstration to life, inspired the General Mercantile entrance and surrounding lawn and seating area, and led to the planting of the shade trees that continue to provide relief from the late July sun.

In 1969, Dick and his father also transported the historic 1915 Russell steam engine to the fairgrounds. Today, it continues to welcome guests at the main entrance and has become an iconic symbol of the Amador County Fair.

It’s no surprise that Cooper Vineyards was built with that same spirit of community. From the very beginning, our family’s goal has been to create a place where people can gather, slow down, and experience the best of Amador County through great wine, meaningful conversations, and genuine hospitality.
