If you really want to save the cattle business, go to your schools, FFA instructors and Guidance Councilors and have them promote and encourage students to become USDA Certified Butchers. Right now one of the major roadblocks in retail selling is the lack of locker dates available. Let students know that being a butcher can be a lucrative career, one that AI cannot take from them. It is a profession that will always be needed and respected. Picture below is real and done by Rachel L Musgrove.

Marketing Beef (according to Jim) is a brainstorm of mine designed for one major goal: keeping alive the small American family farm. The way that I do this is teaching the family farmer how to determine his/her own destiny by selling their products that they produced, retail. Forgoing the middleman and end man. Selling directly to the end user, the consumer. My book, seminars, podcast are all designed around this concept. Bringing back the family farmer is key to keeping agriculture alive and vibrant, to keeping small town America going, to bringing religion back into our lives, to bring families together to work toward a common goal. To let families thrive for generations! This is my mission and purpose!

Im not trying to cause an argument with this question, but as a consumer or if a consumer approached you and asked, " what makes U.S. beef better than anyone elses?" What make other countries beef bad?
What would you tell them and how would you prove it?

Here are two experiences that I had this week:
1) bought fresh milk at a very nice clean farm. Had help yourself milk for sale. Very cold, in glass jars, $5.00/half gallon. I'm ok with this. I buy a jar, go back twice. I never see any real person anywhere except for a girl in the barn doing chores. This last time I went, I picked up a jar and when leaving a young lady comes out of a building ahead of me and is walking my way. I wave, she just stares and keeps walking. Last milk I buy there.
2) I talk to a few people about buying local because they got into this Argentina beef guff. I asked, "why don't you just buy from a local farmer and not worry about what's going on in the beef industry?" Response: "I would love to, but I don't know any farmer who raises beef and it's just too hard to get to know a farmer and one cannot go onto a farmers property without getting shot!"
Enough said.

I listened to another person trying to educate ranchers who want to go retail. She was trying to convince them that they need to be all in on social media. If this is what you rely on you will be broke before you even start. Social media will not keep your ranch alive for the next generation. Read my book and discover how to make 5-10 times the money per customer, and not raising prices on your products. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FNL1LSGV

This page and my business is all about selling retail to the consumer. I try not to get involved in any other subject or any other part of the cattle business. I do not post political stuff but have been know to respond to some. I am fiercely pro-America and strongly believe in the American rancher and the rural way of life. I believe whole heartily in being free and totally independent and only want to live or die by by own wits and skills. This is why I am so in love with this business. Keeping the govt out of my life and business is one of my goals. I teach and promote independence. Not relying on packers, govt, middlemen, grocery stores, etc and making a very lucrative living is my end goal. I feel, when one turns over their life to others it is the beginning of the end. A persons whole life will change, they will get a whole new mind set, new way at looking at things, make different decisions, have more freedom once then rely on themselves and no one else. The book I have written is all about that, it shows the way to independent freedom and still making a very good living. If you follow it, you will live or die by your own energy and determination. It is not for the weak or entitled mindset.
The picture below represents many farms that have relied on others instead of themselves for their lively hood. They worked their asses off only to lose it due to actions taken by others. No rancher has every been accused of being lazy, but all that work just to have a few ruin it for you. It's like raising a calf. You loved it, nurtured it, cared for it its whole life, it is a beautiful animal until one guy hot shots it or slams a trailer door on its leg out of rage for it being too slow to get into the trailer and all that work and love got flushed down the drain. This is how I see (according to Jim) the cattle industry. When just a few people control an industry, nothing but bad things can happen.
