This weekend is another in the pain train of snowstorms for the Central Appalachian Mountains, or do we stay on the mild side with rain? Be careful on the posts of monster snows! There is a lot of spread in the snowfall solutions for the region. The lowest possible snowfall across the region is zero. The best chance is an inch or two in the west, going up to six inches in the east. The heavy snow or maximum possible snow ranges from an inch or two in the west to over a foot in the east. The old joke holds true right now with Zero to a foot of snow possible! Every six hours, a new set of simulations comes out and can flip-flop on snowfall by inches to feet. For now, just be aware that this weekend could be a surprise. Until then, enjoy some 40s to near 50 for a break in the cold action!

Projected snow range from late January 30th through early February 2nd. Low, Average, and Maximum possible images shown. The simulations have been running too high on snow. The current thinking is that the low end to average is the best bet on snow with this system.
