Promote Montana

Promote Montana "Authentically" Montanan Promote Montana does exactly that. If you can make it, grow it or do it in Montana Promote Montana wants people to know it.

Along with spreading the work, we educating Montana consumers on the importance of buying Local Montana made products while showcasing Montanan small businesses. Build recognition for products that are "authentically" Montana. That means the products are grown, created, made, and/or enhanced in the state resulting in 50% or more added-value. Contribute to the creation of a local and Montana wide s

ustainable agriculture system. Which integrates three main goals--environmental health, economic profitability, and social and economic equity. People in many different capacities, from farmers to consumers, have share in sustainability and proper stewardship of Montana’s natural resources. Expand into other venues the Farm to Table where people can buy food directly from growers. Including all ranges of food establishments from the traditional mom and pop corner diners to the fine dining throughout Montana.

2. Research a sustainable repurpose and recycle program. One which creates and re-manufactures quality products from discarded items, trash and compost.

3. Creating programs for Montana citizens on parole or probation, to enhance community re-entry while creating living wage job training programs. Getting parolees or probationers active in the community to create a better successful integrated system, geared toward successful re-integration to the community.

It's always heartening to see citizens coming together to solve a persistent problem in the modern world. Mineral County, Montana, has been without a regular way to deal with homeless cats and dogs for some time. But a fledgling group is making a difference. Kudos! We love their motto: We can't save them all. But we can save as many as WE CAN. https://www.facebook.com/animalrescue54

As Prohibition became the law of the land in 1920, Charles Eybel briefly opened a restaurant in this new commercial building in the Sixth Ward in Helena. Although it officially sat vacant after 1922, legend has it that the party began long before Hap’s became a legitimate bar.
Local businessman Einar Larson claimed that during Prohibition you could always get a drink in the back room. Bootleg whiskey flowed abundantly in many Helena β€œspeakeasies.” Most, like this one here, can be identified only through personal recollections.
After 1933 when alcohol was again legal, Hilda Schrock managed her husband William’s short-lived beer parlor here. By 1939, owner George β€œHap” Schneider had christened the bar β€œHap’s Place.” George and then his son George Jr. owned Hap’s until 1957.
The next owner, A.C. Bielen, sold the bar to Don Lytle in 1975. Reminiscent of the Art Deco period, the building retains the 1945 remodel with two small front replacement windows and an enclosed entry.
Hap’s is the Sixth Ward's oldest surviving business and it last remaining bar. Its vintage neon sign has long beckoned patrons and only hints at the bar’s colorful past. Be sure to step inside and step back in time!
