GOLF FUNDRAISER FOR RAY NOSSE & FAMILY
Play Fore Ray Charity Golf Tournament
I would like to reach out for your support for the upcoming “Play Fore Ray” golf tournament at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course in Encinitas, CA on April 30th, 2016. 100% of the proceeds from this tournament will benefit Ray Nosse. Here is a little of Ray’s tragic story:
To know Ray is to LOVE Ray. He has a love of golf and a passion for Stand Up Paddling. 4-months ago he was a hardworking, athletic, happy 59 year old golfer and SUP'er! He'd just completed a personal goal of participating in the Tahoe Fall Classic 22 Mile Paddle race across Lake Tahoe, an endeavor on his Stand Up Paddle (SUP) board. He placed 2nd in his age group, 9th overall. Two weeks later he was admitted to a San Diego hospital for "emergency chemo" due to a dangerously aggressive large retro peritoneal tumor. Misdiagnosed, he received two 21 day cycles of ineffective chemo, losing precious time. Both cycles were administered in the hospital due to his failing health, complicated by pancreatitis, extreme weight loss, and the inability to eat or drink.
On Friday of Thanksgiving weekend, test results confirmed that his lymphoma was a rare "mutated form" known as Double Hit B-Cell Lymphoma. He was immediately air vac'd to the Stanford Medical Center. Ray is required to remain at Stanford 3-4 months for a grueling chemo regime, one too extensive to explain.
Whoever is around Ray shares his infectious smile and has a way of inviting you into his life ensuring that you feel special. He is also going to "pay it forward" by volunteering to participate in Stanford clinical trial that will hopefully enable physicians to diagnosis Lymphoma earlier and less invasively. Ray and his family are required to be within a 30 minute drive with traffic of the Stanford Medical Center. Luckily, Ray has good insurance, but out of pocket expenses are adding up. We hope to raise money to help fund Ray and his family in this struggle. 100% of the profit from this golf tournament will go to Ray and his family.
Ray has been in the Encinitas Ranch Men’s Golf Club and Team Play for many years. His love of the sport and his dedication to the men’s club has always been a top priority. With his long standing relationship with Islands Restaurants, Ray is always willing to donate to the events hosted by the men’s club, ladies club, and multiple events hosted at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course. Now we need your donation to come full circle and help this wonderful family in this horrible time of need.

This tournament is all about raising money for the Nosse family, but as for you, as the golfer or non-golfer, to have a fantastic experience. It's a 6-person scramble format so you can bring anyone and everyone to participate. It's all about you having a great time for a great cause.
Silent auction items will be on display ALL DAY at Encinitas Ranch starting at 10am. If you are not a golfer, belong in the SUP community, or just want to contribute, please come by and check it out. You do not have to be present to win for the silent auction. Items will be added to this site as they come in so please check back here often. If you win a prize and do not live in the area, items can definately be shipped at your expense.
Taco bar will be on hand during the post golf banquet along with drink specials. Friends and Family are welcome to enjoy the food on hand by purchasing a dinner ticket for just $20.00.
Purchase your raffle tickets ahead of time here and we will deliver at registration. They will be on sale at registration as well. $20.00 each for online tickets and 6/$100. Raffle tickets day of event will be $20.00 each 6/$100. Again, all proceeds go to the Nosse family.

03/10/2016-An Update on Ray:
After 2 rounds of chemo at Stanford, it was determined that Ray's tumor was chemo resistant! Fortunately, Ray qualified for a clinical trial which Stanford was participating in. Ray was the 12th participant in the clinical trial across the country and Stanford's 1st.
The clinical trial involved extracting Ray's white blood cells, T-Cells, modify them then infuse the the T-Cells back into Ray. The "engineered" T-Cells then identify and kill the cancer B-Cells. Ray received the engineered T-Cells just before Super Bowl weekend and today the tumor has been reduced from watermelon size down to a lime size! IT'S WORKING, BUT...Ray is not out of the woods yet. He will be under observation, testing and possibly more treatments for some time to come.
Ray's looking GOOD though! His hair is starting to grow back and he's a bit slimmer! We're hoping Ray will be up to dropping in on us at the tournament!
