Mari Perroni is a Partner and Principal Consultant at CNPMentors, with 15+ years of customer service, international payments and fraud experience. She has lived in various countries and has expertise in multiple industries such as video games, language and culture.
After an exchange year in the U. S., she began her career teaching English in Brazil — which opened up further worldwide opportunities, enabling her to follow her passion of helping others learn English.
In Italy, she became fluent in Italian within a year and provided interpretation services at churches. Being able to help others through language was rewarding.
She emigrated to the UK from Italy and got a job as a Customer Support rep at Lego. Her language skills, customer service experience, gaming knowledge and translation abilities gave her an edge for the role.
She was hired by Jagex, initially managing the Portuguese Speakers community taking responsibility for Billing/Payments, Localization/Translation, Player Safety and Product Management. She then moved to head the English one. Her work earned her a good reputation among employees and customers alike - both online and in-person events. Through this opportunity, she discovered fraud and learned more about language and culture.
She received an offer to move back to Brazil and work at Riot Games, starting off in billing services before becoming a Fraud Manager.
She prevented a fraudster from committing account impersonation and decreased chargeback rates from over 3% to below 1%, all while having the chance to communicate and manage events worldwide.
On the personal side, she’s happily married living in North East Florida with 3 kids, 3 dogs and enjoys reading hardcover books (no, not ebooks), hanging out with her family, learning latin ballroom dancing, and continuing her studies of languages (currently improving her business Spanish).
