Highlighting our partnered non-profit for upcoming ODE DAY for SJSO. We are honored to partner with St. Francis House & Port in the Storm. Port in the Storm is an incredible organization that supports homeless youth right here in St. John’s County.
DID YOU KNOW?
-Over 200 unaccompanied homeless youth (without parent or guardian) attend St. Johns County Schools.
-Port in the Storm serves more than 100 youth annually.
-St. Johns County has a high rate of su***de in youth. Our homeless youth are at the highest risk to become part of this statistic.
PORT in the Storm Homeless Youth Center provides the following:
-Creates a safe place at which young people can find support in time of crisis.
-Assists youth in reconnecting with existing caring family members or to create a natural support system that will help them navigate through the transition to adulthood and beyond.
-Provides an environment conducive to choices that influence positive outcomes for their lives.
-Uses a Positive Youth Development approach that is client-centered allowing each youth to access a unique plan and solutions to their obstacles.
By extending your support to the Sheriff's team during ODE DAY, you will also contribute to Port in the Storm. A share of the proceeds will be allocated to aid this exceptional organization.
