🍼💧 Pitch the Plastic: Water & Beverage Bottles are a Big Yes!
Got a stack of empty water or soda bottles waiting by the back door? Plastic bottles are among the most frequently recycled household items, and keeping them out of the trash makes a huge difference!
♻️ Why Recycling Plastic Bottles Matters:
Rigid plastic bottles (like #1 PET and #2 HDPE plastics) can easily be broken down, melted, and transformed into brand-new consumer products—ranging from new containers to fleece jackets and carpet fibers! Recycling them saves raw petroleum resources and keeps long-lasting plastic waste out of local landfills and waterways.
💡 Quick Prep Checklist for Plastics:
🚰 Empty & Rinse: Give bottles a quick rinse to clear out lingering liquids or sticky sugary residue before recycling.
💥 Crush 'Em Flat: Squeeze the air out and flatten your bottles to maximize space in your bin and in our collection trailers.
🧢 Screw the Caps On: Once flattened, twist the caps back on so they don't get lost or dropped during sorting!
Drop off your empty, crushed plastic bottles at our main facility or in the plastics section of any green collection trailer across the region!
