- Until 415 PM CDT.
- At 119 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

2:30pm- UPDATE
All lanes of I-59 are completely reopened. Thank you for your patience as crews worked to get the roadway back open.

12:34pm - UPDATE
The left lane on the Southbound side has been reopened at this time. Please continue to use caution through the area as crews are still on scene working to completely open the southbound side back up.

⚠️ TRAFFIC ADVISORY ⚠️

There is currently a vehicle accident at the 22-mile marker on I-59 on the southbound side. The southbound side of the interstate is shut down at this time. The northbound lane remains open.

Please avoid the area and use alternate routes if possible. We will provide an update once I-59 has reopened.

..STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT PORTIONS OF EAST CENTRAL ST.
TAMMANY PARISH, HARRISON, CENTRAL HANCOCK AND SOUTH CENTRAL PEARL
RIVER COUNTIES THROUGH 430 PM CDT..

At 358 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Saucier to near Picayune. Movement was
southeast at 15 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...

Gulfport, Biloxi, Picayune, Diamondhead, Saucier, Kiln, Lyman, Stennis Space Center, and Latimer.

This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 10 in Mississippi between mile markers 20 and 24, and between mile markers 27 and 43. Interstate 59 in Louisiana between mile markers 6 and 11. Interstate 59 in Mississippi between mile markers 1 and 8.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded areas.

possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

CAUTION:

Flooded roads are extremely dangerous and can become deadly in seconds. Just a small amount of moving water can sweep a vehicle off the roadway, and it’s often impossible to tell how deep the water really is or if the road underneath has been washed away.

Please do not attempt to drive through flooded areas. No destination is worth risking your life or the lives of first responders who may have to rescue you.

If you encounter water over the roadway: • Turn around and find another route
• Slow down during heavy rain
• Stay alert for barricades and warning signs
• Never ignore road closure signs

Stay safe and help keep our roads safe for everyone.
