We’re now utilizing our Cantek Finger Jointer! This technology allows us to take two shorter pieces of wood and turn them into one longer, continuous plank. The ends are precisely cut into interlocking “fingers,” which are joined together with adhesive to create a strong connection.

By connecting the shorter pieces that were otherwise heading to waste, we can reduce the waste and maximize the use of our wood. 🪵🖐️

A miniature home that comes apart just like the real thing! 🏠

One of our employees 3D-printed this miniature model to resemble the design of our BOLEH (Built on Lot Engineered Homes).

But this isn’t just a model, it demonstrates how the real home is designed to come apart into cassettes, allowing the entire home to be transported on just two flatbed trucks and delivered to the site as a kit for assembly.

It’s a small-scale look at a big idea and will definitely be shown off!

After many changes, updates, and plenty of fine-tuning, we believe we’ve landed on the right layout for our first BOLEH! 🏠

We’re going with a smaller-scale home that can be easily transported and showcased as we bring the BOLEH concept to life.

The goal is to deliver these homes with the expectation that the building process will be fast, simple, and efficient. No cranes or traditional framing needed, thanks to the strength and versatility of our thermally modified CLT.

With all the excitement surrounding the Building Innovation Center (BIC), it has been rewarding to see our carbon fiber composite production continue to grow. Direct sales of SwiftNet are gaining momentum, and the companies we manufacture for are expanding alongside us. Every milestone reinforces our mission: transforming undervalued materials into high-performance products that create lasting impact.

What's New Wednesday?

Big news at the BIC...we just installed our first 7Robotics robot! This robot will automatically pick up and grade every plank of wood that comes into the BIC. If a board has too many knots or other defects, it will be set aside before it ever goes through thermal modification.

Before this, our team thermally modified every board and then manually sorted them afterward to determine which were usable. Now, we're catching those issues early in the process, saving time, reducing labor, and making the whole operation more efficient.

It's exciting to see another step forward as we continue improving how we manufacture thermally modified wood. Huge thank you to !

What's New Wednesday 🔨

This week, we're excited to share the start of the first BOLEH (Built On Lot Engineered Home) being constructed at the BIC as an in-house model!

The home will be built using a cassette construction method, with the first cassette serving as the MEP module (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing). This design centralizes key building systems, allowing plumbing and other utilities to run efficiently through the core of the home.

This has been a long time coming, and we're excited to finally begin a project that will help provide a solution to today's housing challenges!
