My Story
Hi! my name is Danielle, owner of Gypsy’s ! I’m here to tell you how my love of all things canning came to be. It all started back in 2010 when I was planning my wedding. I wanted to make my own wedding favors as a personal thank you to everyone. Since I love to cook and bake my future mother in law suggested jams and I thought PERFECT!!! So I dug my heals in researched, learned, and dove in! After making my first batch I was HOOKED! so hooked, that I made 225 batches! It didn’t stop there either. I was a crazed canning lady making jams every chance I got. Then people started telling me that I should go into business. I went on to make personal orders etc.. until I was able to implement exactly what I wanted in my products and was in a position to get my licensing and start production.
Beside wanting to create low sugar healthy foods, I wanted to source and support local farmers. Then I took it one more step further, with pesticides, etc... always on my mind, I decided to dig in (literally), get my hands dirty, and grow as much of my produce as possible. That’s when my son, the green thumb joined me. He handles ALL of the growing. He’s the backbone of Gypsy’s. We start almost everything from seed early. The growing portion isn’t just produce, it’s also planting native pollinator gardens around the property as well. After all, I do rely on pollinators for my produce! P.S. I still source and support local farmers as well, since I do not have fruit bearing trees.......YET!
I pour my heart and soul into every single jar. This journey truly is my heart’s passion. There is no better thing in the world than seeing someone smile as their taste buds light up!
