Buying a boat from a dealer versus buying from a private seller are two very different experiences. Here's what most people don't think about until after the fact. π€
When you buy from a private seller, what you see is what you get. No warranty, no recourse, no one to call if something goes wrong on the way home. If the seller wasn't honest about the boat's history, that's your problem now.
When you buy from a dealer, there's accountability built into the transaction. We stand behind what we sell. We've done a walkthrough of the boat before it went on our lot. If something comes up we didn't catch, you have someone to call.
Dealers also handle the title, registration, and financing in one place. Private sales require you to manage all of that yourself, and Florida title paperwork on a boat can be genuinely complicated if you've never done it before.
Private sales can have good deals in them. They can also have expensive surprises. Knowing the difference is the whole game.
