Rye Ridge Ceramic Tile was founded in 1973 by Luke Colombo and Keith Dean. For more than 40 years, Rye Ridge Tile has serviced the Connecticut area and offered exceptional products to its diverse customer base. For the first 10 years, Rye Ridge Tile was largely a two-man show. With hard work and optimism there came opportunity, and Luke and Keith proceeded to establish themselves within the ࢢle an
d flooring community. Keith’s sons, Roger and David, were a great asset to the company as it grew larger. After a short stay in professional baseball, Roger joined the staff full-time in 1988 alongside his older brother. Sales increased to nearly 1.3 million in 1991 and the Rye Ridge Tile team grew to seven employees. As the years progressed, both of Keith’s sons began to take a stronger lead in the company. Keith Dean retired in 1991, but Luke stayed within the company until his passing in 1995. When Keith passed away in 2002, it was decided that Roger and David would manage the company in the absence of its founders. Sales and employees continued to grow, paralleling the company’s reliable reputation within the community. In 2000, the company purchased a 1-acre lot at 520 North Main Street. Construction of this new showroom and warehouse began in the summer of 2002, and the building opened in 2004. Totaling 16,000 square feet with two stories of floor space, the new building was a perfect fit for the expanding company. Since the grand opening, Rye Ridge Tile has become the one-stop-shop for homeowners in and around the area, and also has expanded to offer its services to customers in Manhattan, Aspen, Palm Beach, and as far as the Caiman Islands. David Dean retired in August of 2012 and moved to South Carolina with his wife, Cindy, and his son Cameron. Roger lives in Danbury with his wife, Kathy, and his two children, Cory and Rachel. He continues to oversee the growth and development of Rye Ridge Tile within the Connecticut area. Rye Ridge Tile continues to seek new opportunities for growth, change, and innovation. In addition to providing a positive experience for its new and returning customers, Rye Ridge Tile offers a diverse range of products to accommodate any type of design vision in a comfortable, family-style showroom environment.
