It's hard to find time to post here, but we just wanted to say we hope all our customers are okay in Helene's aftermath (personally as well as your businesses). We were lucky and blessed this time 'round, and are here and fully functional if you need us.

Why am I posting this? It has nothing to do with the people in the photo, aside from Tampa Mayor Jane Castor I don’t even know who they are. Nothing to do with the gallery or the art or artists. I’m posting this because of the black letters on the wall … this is why professional sign people use matte vinyl on interior walls instead of gloss. A lesson I learned early in my career (about 1985 or so) when I was commissioned to paint “At Ford, Quality is Job 1” on the showroom wall at our local Ford Dealership. I used gloss One-Shot paint. It was impossible to stand anywhere in the showroom and not have the lettering be unreadable because of glare.

We haven’t had much time to do any posting for quite a while, but we sure do love happy customers!

This goes for signs, as well!! Two idioms relevant to this situation: 1. You get what you pay for; and, 2. Don't be penny-wise and pound foolish. Hire a properly licensed/bonded/insured contractor to protect yourself and your property!! We go through great lengths (and expense) to take care of our customers, while always trying to keep our signs as affordable as possible. Besides, as you can see, unlicensed contractors are breaking the law!

UNLICENSED CONTRACTING: Pasco Sheriff’s Office’s Economic Crimes unit recently conducted an unlicensed contractor operation in which businesses and individuals were found to be conducting contractor work without the proper licensing.

Deputies say, this crime is dangerous, placing citizens at potential risk for poor quality work and noncompliance with building codes. In addition, property owners become liable for any injuries, have limited resources in the event of a broken contract and may become the victim of scams.

If you believe you may be a victim of an unlicensed contractor, call the Pasco Sheriff’s Non-Emergency Line at 727-847-8102, option 7 to report it.

If you believe someone may be conducting contracting work without the proper licensing, call the Pasco Sheriff’s Crime Tips Line at 1-800-706-2488, or report tips online at PascoSheriff.com/tips.
