🚨 Hurricane Helene Update for Port St. Lucie Residents 🚨
The City of Port St. Lucie is actively monitoring the path of Hurricane Helene and preparing for any potential impacts. Currently, we are under a tropical storm warning, and we urge residents to stay informed with the latest updates from the National Weather Service and the National Hurricane Center. Here’s the latest information:
City Hall:
• City Hall will operate as normal, but the Business Tax office will not accept walk-in appointments on Thursday, Sept. 26.
Emergency Operations:
• The City’s Emergency Operations Center is preparing for all possibilities and can increase its activation level if needed. Fueling for generators and emergency vehicles is ongoing.
1PSL Customer Service:
• Contact the City via 1PSL at 772-871-1775 or the 1PSL app for any issues.
Solid Waste:
• Trash and recycling pickup remains on schedule for now.
• Reminder: Don’t trim trees or set out large yard waste or bulky items as they may not be collected before the storm.

Public Works:
• Public Works is monitoring water levels, clearing debris, and drawing down water in canals. Recent rains have saturated the ground, so expect road pooling with additional rainfall. Drive cautiously in wet conditions.

Building Department:
• Inspectors are instructing contractors to:
• Secure construction materials and portable toilets.
• Clear drainage areas.
• Restrict further deliveries to job sites.
Parks & Recreation:
• All events and rentals for Thursday, Sept. 26, are canceled.
• Community Center, MIDFLORIDA Event Center, and Minsky Gym will remain open for normal hours on Thursday.
• City Parks will stay open, but all sporting events on athletic fields are canceled.
• The Saints Golf Course: Tee times for Thursday will proceed as scheduled.
Police Department:
• PSLPD is coordinating with local law enforcement and emergency management partners.
Utility Systems:
• Skip the bottled water rush! Fill containers with tap water, which is treated by reverse osmosis and purified.
• Conserve water during power outages to prevent your wastewater tank from overfilling. Only flush when necessary and avoid long showers and using dishwashers.
