First, I unlearned the idea of perfection.
I settled into the practices
The work
The process
And found that the ideal was the illusion.

First, I learned that I WAS perfect
All along
I celebrated my crooked teeth
I reveled in my stretch marks
Perfect mirrors of vascular networks
And mycelium
And the roots of the trees
I found that perfect lived inside of imperfection.

First, I learned that we are all perfect
Prismatic expressions of the divine
Playing with light
Trying on skim
Adding a splash of personality
Rejoicing in polarity
I saw into our soul
Past the conditioning
Past the layers of story and shadow and s*x
A gleaming reflecting pool
I found the most beauty in the variety of our perfections.
