What If the Best Client Gift Isn't About Your Company?

Have you ever received a business gift that made you think, “Wow…they actually know me”?
That's the difference between sending merchandise and giving a gift.
Imagine a company preparing holiday gifts for its top customers.
Instead of choosing one product and sending it to everyone, the team does something different.
They ask their account managers to tell them something about each customer.
One loves golf.
Another travels constantly.
One is a serious coffee person.
Another spends weekends at their kids' sporting events.
Suddenly the gift ideas become obvious.
The golfer gets something they'll take to the course.
The traveler receives a premium travel accessory.
The coffee lover gets a great drinkware and coffee set.
The sports parent gets something useful for Saturday mornings on the sidelines.
Every gift includes tasteful branding and a handwritten thank-you.
The budget didn't necessarily change.
The thought behind the gift did.
And that's the part people remember.
Promotional products are most powerful when the product makes sense for the person receiving it.

What's the most thoughtful business or client gift you've ever received? What made it memorable?

Tell us about a business gift you actually remembered.

Product Spotlight: The Backpack Got an Upgrade

If the word “promotional backpack” still makes you picture a basic drawstring bag, it might be time for another look.

Today's branded bags have gone seriously upscale.
Think padded laptop compartments, hidden pockets, USB access, recycled materials, premium fabrics, travel organization, water-resistant finishes and designs that look more retail than promotional.
That's what makes a quality backpack such a strong option for:
**Employee onboarding
**Schools & universities
**Corporate travel
**Conferences
**Employee recognition
**Holiday gifting
**VIP customers
And because backpacks tend to travel, your branding goes with them.

Creative Idea: Create a “Work From Anywhere Kit.”
Start with a premium backpack and add a tech organizer, charging cable, notebook and insulated bottle. Instead of handing employees several individual products, everything arrives together as one useful package.
For branding, keep it subtle—a small embroidered logo, tonal decoration, or premium patch can make the bag feel like something you'd actually find in a retail store.
The goal isn't just getting your logo out there.
It's creating something worth carrying.

Need a gift with a little more staying power? We'd be happy to help you explore bag options for your audience and budget.

Headline: The Holiday Gift Is Changing

The traditional corporate holiday gift isn't disappearing.
But expectations are changing.
More companies are moving away from simply putting a large logo on a generic product and calling it a gift.
Instead, they're asking:
“Would I actually be excited to receive this?”

That's leading to more thoughtful gifting:
*Retail-inspired products
*Personalization
*Premium packaging
*Handwritten messages
*Products employees can enjoy outside work
*Different gifts for different audiences
*Products with a sustainability or social-impact story

There's also a bigger shift happening:
The branding doesn't always have to be the star.
Sometimes a subtle logo, custom packaging, or personalized card creates a better experience than putting an oversized company logo on the product itself.
After all, if you're calling something a gift, it should probably feel like one.
With holiday planning beginning, we're curious:

Would you rather receive ONE premium company gift or a gift box containing several smaller branded items?
ONE PREMIUM GIFT
or
CURATED GIFT BOX
Which team are you on?

Comment ONE or BOX and tell us what you'd want inside.

Motivation Monday!!

You Still Have a Quarter Left. Make It Count.

It's easy to look at the calendar, see October approaching, and wonder where the year went.
But here's another way to look at it:
There's still an entire quarter left.
Three months to strengthen a customer relationship.
Three months to recognize the people who helped your organization succeed.
Three months to finally launch the idea that's been sitting on the whiteboard.
Three months to finish strong.
Q4 can get busy quickly—budgets, events, holidays, year-end projects, employee appreciation and planning for next year all seem to arrive at once.
That's why this is a great week to stop for a moment and ask:
What would make the final quarter of 2026 a success for us?
It doesn't have to be a massive goal.
Maybe it's reconnecting with five customers.
Maybe it's recognizing your employees more consistently.
Maybe it's finally planning ahead instead of scrambling at the last minute.
Whatever it is, there's still plenty of time to make an impact.
The calendar isn't running out.
You've still got 25% of the year to work with.

What's ONE goal you want to accomplish before 2026 ends?

Put your Q4 goal in the comments. Writing it down is a good first step.

Friday Funday!!!

You Can Keep ONE Piece of Swag Forever…What's It Going to Be?

It's Friday, so it's time for an unnecessarily difficult promotional-products decision.

Imagine someone walks into your office and says:

“You can have FREE branded versions of ONE of these products for the rest of your life.”

You only get ONE.

What are you choosing?

A — Coffee Mugs
Never buy another one.

B — T-Shirts
Your weekend wardrobe is officially handled.

C — Premium Tumblers
Hydration for life.

D — Hats
Bad hair days solved forever.

E — Backpacks
Work. Travel. Everything.

F — Socks
Don't laugh. Great socks are underrated.

G — Umbrella
You'll never remember where you left them anyway.

H — Hoodies
This one could dominate.

I — Pens
Somewhere, there's a person VERY excited about this option.

J — Tech Accessories
Chargers, cables, power banks…forever.

Remember: YOU ONLY GET ONE CATEGORY FOR LIFE.

We're expecting some heated debate between Hoodie and Tumbler people.

What's your pick?

Suggested Image: A colorful comic-style “ONE SWAG ITEM FOR LIFE” graphic featuring all 10 choices in illustrated tiles. Large center/bottom text:

YOU CAN ONLY PICK ONE!

Use the correct Unbroken Branding logo subtly at the bottom.

Comment with your letter and tag someone whose answer you can already predict.

Throwback Thursday

Have You Ever Had a “Cheap” Giveaway Become Your Most Popular Product?

Have you ever picked a promotional product you weren't particularly excited about…only to discover everyone LOVED it?

Imagine a company preparing for a large community event.

They had already selected their primary giveaways but needed one inexpensive item to round out the event.

Someone suggested a simple phone stand.

Nothing flashy.

No elaborate packaging.

Just a small branded stand people could use at their desk.

They ordered them.

And then something unexpected happened.

They disappeared faster than almost everything else.

People immediately understood what they were for.

Employees started using them at their desks.

Customers asked if there were extras.

Months later, the client noticed them sitting beside computers during customer visits.

The lesson?

Price doesn't determine whether a promotional product is valuable. Usefulness does.

Sometimes a $2 item perfectly matched to your audience can create more engagement than something costing ten times as much.

That's why one of our favorite questions to ask before recommending products is:

“Who's receiving it—and what would actually be useful to them?”

Now we're curious:

What's the simplest promotional product you've received that you ended up using ALL the time?

Tell us the surprisingly useful giveaway you still use.

Product Spotlight: The Promotional Product Hiding in Your Car

Here's a promotional product category that doesn't always get the attention it deserves:

Automotive accessories.

Think about how much time your customers and employees spend in their vehicles.

Now think about products they might actually keep there:

**Dual-port or retractable car chargers
**Compact car vacuums
**Insulated trunk organizers
**Emergency flashlights
**Auto cleaning kits
**Compact umbrellas
**Reusable shopping bags
**Roadside emergency kits

What makes automotive products interesting is their staying power.

A useful item can remain in someone's vehicle for months—or years—putting your brand in a place they interact with constantly.

Creative Idea: Create a “Ready for the Road” kit for employees, customers, new homeowners, college students, or company drivers. Pair a compact flashlight with a charging cable, cleaning cloth and emergency essentials inside a branded organizer.

It's practical, unexpected, and adaptable to a wide range of budgets.

Sometimes the best promotional-product idea isn't sitting on someone's desk.

It's waiting in their trunk.

Looking for something different from another pen or tumbler? We'd be happy to brainstorm products based on where and how your audience actually spends their time.

Hot Topic Tuesday

Cheap Swag vs. Useful Swag — Are Marketers Changing the Question?

For years, promotional-product buying often started with:

“How many can we get for the budget?”

Increasingly, a better question is:

“How many people will actually USE it?”

There will always be a place for inexpensive, high-quantity giveaways—especially at large events.

But more organizations are thinking about usefulness, perceived value, sustainability, and longevity when selecting promotional merchandise.

Think about the difference:

1,000 products that disappear into drawers…

versus 500 products people use every week.

Which creates the better brand experience?

It doesn't automatically mean choosing the most expensive option either.

A $3 item that's perfectly matched to the audience can outperform a $30 gift nobody needs.

That's where knowing your recipient matters.

College students need different products than executives.

Golfers need different products than conference attendees.

Remote employees need different products than event volunteers.

The best promotional product isn't necessarily the cheapest OR the most expensive.

It's the one that makes sense for the person receiving it.

HOT TOPIC: If you had the same total budget, would you rather give MORE people an inexpensive item or FEWER people a premium one?

Comment MORE or BETTER—and tell us why.

Motivation Monday

Be Useful. Be Remembered.

There’s a simple lesson in marketing that applies to almost everything:

Give people a reason to keep you around.

That applies to relationships, customer service, content—and even promotional products.

The brands we remember aren't always the ones that shout the loudest. They're often the ones that consistently make our lives a little easier.

They answer the question.

They solve the problem.

They remember the details.

They provide something useful at exactly the right moment.

That's why we believe great branding isn't about getting your logo in front of someone as many times as possible.

It's about creating positive interactions with your brand over and over again.

Sometimes that's exceptional customer service.

Sometimes it's a thoughtful thank-you.

And sometimes it's something as simple as a product that earns a permanent spot on someone's desk, in their car, golf bag, kitchen, or backpack.

Visibility gets attention.

Usefulness earns staying power.

As you start another week, think about your own organization:

What's one way your business makes life easier for your customers?

That's probably a bigger part of your brand than you realize.

Tell us one way your organization makes life easier for its customers.
