East Jefferson County working forests are becoming fragmented and converted to other uses, mostly residential. It makes sense to Harvest Timber Local as well. "Clearcut Local" may not be a popular slogan, but it's frequently the best way to manage forest land and minimize the need to import wood products from other areas--many of which are much more delicate and regulated ecosystems than the Pacific Northwest.
