It’s funny how life comes full circle.

Us sitting at a Portage Junior High game, a place that felt like our kingdom back in the day. As I watched the game, I noticed the scoreboard was not working, as well as the play clocks were blank.

I understand budgets. I know our schools do the absolute best they can with what they have. It would’ve been easy to complain… but complaining doesn’t fix problems.

At RAE Earthworks, we believe in finding solutions.

The scoreboard already had a sponsor—which is awesome. Instead of trying to foot the entire bill ourselves, we thought, why not show just how many local businesses have this town’s back?

A few phone calls later, it was done.

A huge thank you to Cambria exteriors, Pro Disposal, and First Summit Bank for stepping up without hesitation. Together, we’re proud to say the new play clocks will be installed in time for the upcoming season.

This is what a community looks like.

None of this would be possible without the support you’ve shown RAE Earthworks over the years. Every project you trust us with gives us the opportunity to give something back.

A Message From RAE Earthworks

To all of our customers, friends, and supporters — thank you.

The last few months have been a whirlwind. Between foundations, sewer projects, drainage work, emergency calls, volunteer projects, and trying to keep up with one of the wettest stretches of weather we can remember, the days have been long and the schedule has been even longer.

The rain has absolutely been our biggest challenge. It seems like every time we get momentum, Mother Nature has other plans. Excavations fill with water, schedules get pushed, and projects that should take days end up taking weeks. It’s frustrating for us because we know many of you are waiting patiently for us to get to your project.

Please know this: if you’re on our schedule, we haven’t forgotten about you.

We understand waiting isn’t easy, especially when you’re dealing with a foundation issue, drainage problem, or a project you’re excited to see completed. But we refuse to rush jobs just to move to the next one. Every project we take on carries our name, our reputation, and our promise to do it right.

We’ve always believed that quality takes time.

RAE Earthworks was built on hard work, honesty, and treating people the way we’d want to be treated. That means showing up, doing the job correctly, and standing behind our work long after the equipment leaves.

We know there are faster options out there. There always will be. But there is a reason our schedule stays full, and it’s because our customers know we care about the finished product as much as they do.

So to everyone waiting, checking in, and showing us grace through the endless rain delays and packed schedule — thank you. Your patience means more than you know.

We’re working every day, rain permitting, to get caught up and continue delivering the quality work you’ve come to expect from us.

The weather may slow us down, but it won’t stop us.

We have been working nights and weekends. Rain or shine. Between volunteer projects and contracts, maybe sometimes we bite off more than we can chew… but we always make it happen.

Today, the RAE crew finally took a little time to sit down, relax, and enjoy a good meal together.

But today was a little different. As we sat there joking and laughing, a waitress approached our table and handed us a gift card toward our meal with a simple message:

“Thank you for all you do for our community.”

To whoever made that gesture — thank you.

Moments like that make every long day, every late night, and every stressful week worth it. After the kind of week we’ve had, it was exactly the motivation we needed to get back on track and keep pushing forward.

Sometimes it’s the smallest acts of kindness that remind you why you do what you do.

The support from the communities around us has been phenomenal. And although we are booked out for a good bit, we are continuing to expand and grow so we can keep supporting those around us the best we can.

RAE Earthworks Family Announcement

It is with heavy hearts that we share the loss of one of our best supervisors this weekend. Our boy Phoenix fought a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Phoenix was more than a dog — he was a rescue, a bait-dog survivor, and a true fighter. He reminded us every day what resilience, loyalty, and second chances look like.

In honor of our late fur baby, RAE Earthworks will be donating a portion of the proceeds from all projects booked between now and the end of April to the Cambria County Humane Society.

If you’ve been planning a project, there’s no better time.
Together we can help give more animals the second chance Phoenix had.

At RAE Earthworks, giving back to the community that supports us will always be part of who we are.

With the season coming to an end for the team we were proud to sponsor, we had to celebrate the only way we know how — the RAE way — with a pizza party. 🍕

But tonight wasn’t just about pizza. It was about celebrating a season full of hard work, growth, laughter, and the memories these kids made together. Watching them learn the value of teamwork, determination, and supporting one another is something truly special.

To the boys and girls — congratulations on an amazing season. You should be proud of yourselves. The effort you showed on the court and the character you showed off it is what truly matters.

And to the coaches — thank you. The time, patience, and heart you pour into these kids does not go unnoticed. You’re doing more than coaching basketball. You’re helping shape young people and giving them the tools to succeed both on and off the court.

Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do. Seeing these kids smile, grow, and believe in themselves reminds us that investing in our community is always worth it.

We are proud of every single one of you, and proud to stand behind the families and programs that make this community so special. Portage has always been a town built on people showing up for one another — and we’re honored to play a small part in that.
