Tomorrow, Aug. 22, 2026, boats will take over North Portland Harbor for the fourth annual Smile Boat Parade, part of a bigger push to put Portland's North Waterfront on the map. The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year's theme is "Living Waters" and honors the marinas, small businesses, and neighbors along the river who are turning this stretch of the Columbia into a real destination.
Bedazzled boats of every kind — motor, sail, and paddle — parade from the Portland Yacht Club breakwall starting at 11 a.m., past Buoy 1 and under the I-5 bridge, finishing at the beach just west of the railroad bridge for a Beach Bash and awards ceremony. A complete schedule of activities is up at NorthWaterfrontPDX.org.
Let's unite Portland's water community on the North Waterfront as local boaters of all sizes showcase their creativity, decking out their boats with flags and decorations, bringing smiles to everyone involved including onlookers from shore.
