Full review: "I called Rebecca in to help me organize my office/craft room and she did a great job! I had two bookcases and a closet full of memory boxes, piles of miscellaneous papers, books, and art supplies all 'organized' in teetering piles. One wrong move, and a whole shelf would be in danger of emptying its contents onto the floor!

Rebecca came in with her trusty work table and helped me empty and reorganize all of the shelves. Three hours later and my office is much cleaner, calmer, and I can locate desired items without the danger of a landslide. Not only can I locate things, but I have a plan for how to store some of the more problematic items so the organization will be easier to maintain.

I highly recommend Rebecca for any project, big or small. She is calm in the face of chaos, has a good eye for systems, and is ready to help tackle whatever you need tackled."

Happy World Organizing Day! In celebration, here are a few things I love about being a professional organizer: 1.) Hearing my clients express the relief and joy they feel after transforming their space from chaotic and stressful to organized and functional. 2.) The satisfaction after a big decluttering session when you can really see how much extraneous stuff has been removed from the space. 3.) The gratitude from recipients of my clients' unwanted items – people who can actually use the items and will give them new life. Shout-out to all my pro organizer colleagues who engage in this truly impactful work helping others improve their quality of life through an organized space.

Reduce clutter by taking advantage of vertical space! My client's living room blanket storage situation wasn't functional for her, so we brainstormed and decided to try out installing hooks on the wall. This way they are easy to grab, easy to put away, and don't languish on the couches, taking up space.

Happy Spring Equinox! The flowering trees are letting us know that spring is here, but I just wish we would get a little bit more sunshine too! I'm simultaneously thankful that we are NOT experiencing the unseasonable heat wave that much of the country is going through right now. Anyone else get that urge to come out from winter hibernation and declutter and clean your space?

This was a very satisfying bedroom refresh project. We did a major declutter, with many items being relocated to a crafting studio space. Then we swapped out some mismatched end tables for a much more visually simple and functional sideboard. All design and curation credit goes to my lovely client!

I was very excited to be able to successfully bring most of my usual organizing supplies (including my folding table) and also haul away a couple bags of donation items all by bicycle yesterday while my car was at the mechanic! Luckily my client was only a few miles away, so that made this much more feasible. I’ve had this large cargo bike trailer for many years, and it is really nice to have around when I need it!

This was a fun project: helping a 13-year-old declutter her bedroom! She had a very large collection of stuffed animals, which she did end up paring down quite a bit. We were able to utilize her over-the-door fabric hanging storage plus a metal basket to store some of the remaining items such that they were no longer taking up space on or next to her bed. The hanging storage is a wonderful use of vertical space, and this basket has a flat wooden top such that it can serve a dual function as a surface, similar to a coffee table.

Feeling stressed? Remember to get outside! Hang out with some plants! Many studies have shown that exposure to plants can lower blood pressure and cortisol (the stress hormone) levels and improve mood. I feel super fortunate to have space for a garden at home. Our fall fava plantings (pictured here) have gotten quite tall, we have more arugula than we can possibly eat, and our tree collard plants have rebounded wonderfully from their near total destruction during an ice storm two years ago.
