Laundry room refresh! Two simple changes made a big difference in here.

The cabinets above the washer are really hard to reach, so adding a countertop across the washer and dryer gave this space a solid landing zone and kept things from falling behind the machines. So helpful!

Detergent pods went into an apothecary jar and other items got added to a rolling cart. Not every space requires a ton of time or materials. Sometimes a few small solutions are all you need. ๐Ÿ˜Š

One of my favorite things to do is customize less than ideal spaces for better accessibility and storage. Itโ€™s the best kind of challenge for a PO!

Often I prefer to reuse containers a client already has, but in this case we had a totally new pantry to work with, so we got to build the whole system from scratch.

The pantry was less than 10 inches deep, so placing categories of items into clear bins made it much easier to grab things even with limited depth.

The top shelf had a wood support on the back wall that limited the height, so we tracked down a 5 inch container that slipped right underneath it. Those types of solutions are so satisfying.

And who doesnโ€™t love a pretty wood turntable? This 14โ€ rotating turntable came in really handy in a hard to reach corner. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Bathroom drawers are tough because everything in them tends to be small and oddly shaped.

Drawer organizers make a big difference here!

๐Ÿ‘‰ A tip: choose a mix of smaller individual organizers that are just slightly bigger than the item rather than grabbing the largest container that fits. It keeps things from shifting around and divides the space much more effectively.

This client's new custom kitchen drawer is a great example of functional design in action. When the kitchen was being remodeled, I recommended storing the knives in the island, right where the chopping happens. That placement alone makes a difference in how smoothly a kitchen runs.

Knife storage can be tricky because of variations in length, and the custom wood insert they had designed handles it really well. If you're interested in something like this for your own kitchen, it's definitely something I can help you source and plan out. ๐Ÿ”ชโœจ

I dropped off a donation to Gung Ho Ministries Boutique in SW Portland recently and just had to share this gem with you all.

Tanya, the owner (pictured in the second image), is lovely, and the shop itself is fab. It's a women's clothing resale boutique in Beaverton that donates all profits to veterans. Today's drop included some beautiful pieces from a client, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, and they were so thrilled to receive them.

If you have quality clothing to donate, this is such a meaningful place to bring it. And if you love a good resale find, its worth a visit.

You may have already seen this in my newsletter, but it's too good not to share here too.โค๏ธ

I have worked with Jackson at Blue Crow Plumbing on a number projects over the years. I helped him organize his electric plumbing van and plumbing storage area. And he has done great work for me as well, including fixing an outdoor spigot that hadnโ€™t worked in over 20 years, and installing a new sink. He is the best! โค๏ธ

These kinds of ongoing working relationships are just the best. As a small, service-based business serving a local area, your network is your most important asset! Building trust and solid working relationships means a lot to me, and I love being of service as well.

One year ago today, I lost my sister, Lauri. She was the strong one in our family โ€” resilient, encouraging, and always positive. She loved her garden, and any free moment she had was spent digging and planting flowers. Lauri was my biggest fan and always said I could accomplish almost anything. When I decided to become a Certified Professional Organizer six years ago, she had no doubt I would ace the exam, and was so proud of me when I did.

Lauri is also the reason I have my two collie boys, Tommy and Beau. After my sweet collie, Brodie, passed away, I saw a photo on Facebook of two dogs who needed a home. I thought there was no way I could adopt both, but called her immediately. She said, "I know you miss Brodie so much, but I think you should adopt those two boys. They will take care of each other, and you." That was all I needed to hear. And she was right!

Every day I think of her, and miss her so much. Having someone who supports and believes in you is so important in this life, and in times of transition, that kind of presence becomes a lifeline. Working as a Professional Organizer allows me to continue Lauri's legacy as an encouraging, supportive presence in my clients' lives. It's an honor to help people through these moments, and bring some peace back to their homes. โ™ฅ๏ธ

I loved this closet makeover! My client was a true decision-making champion. She was so ready to let go of what no longer fit her life that donation items were quickly set aside as we went.

She no longer needed business clothing and chose to pare down to what she genuinely loves and wears most, especially her jeans and pants. Once everything was sorted, we stepped back and looked at how she wanted the space to function day to day. From there, we redesigned the layout.

We started with matching hangers, which immediately gave the closet a cleaner, more cohesive look. To add shelf space without installing anything new, we stacked โ€™s Clearline Stackable Bins for pants and sweatshirts. It was a great alternative to adding shelves. We used divided pantry bins in between for socks and slippers, keeping everything visible and easy to reach.

She was absolutely thrilled with the result. If your closet needs a reset that reflects how you actually live now, you can reach out through my website to schedule a session. ๐Ÿ˜Š
