The Center Consultancy

The Center Consultancy The Center supports organizations nationwide to eliminate disparities, advance

Founded in 2015, CEI co-founders and educators Hanif Fazal and Frewine Kiros created The Center to guide people in creating transformational change by learning how to apply a racial Equity Filter to all aspects of one’s life, especially the workplace. We invite clients to partner in a long-term process –often multiple years– to learn what it takes to embed equity and inclusion and build capacity s

o clients can carry and deepen DEI over time. Our facilitators bring diverse personal and professional experiences, unique skill sets, and an ability to both personalize and strategically operationalize the work with our partners. Having served over 100 clients nationwide since our launch, The Center's adaptive approach is agnostic. Whether a small non-profit or a Fortune 500 company, we know organizational transformation is a complex ecosystem that takes time. When executed with attention to learn and apply an organizational Equity Filter, clients can profoundly shift and positively impact all aspects of work and relationships. By deepening personal relationships, commitment and trust to this work, clients build capacity to do this work.

No matter how strong your DEI strategy is, it will always hit a ceiling if the C-suite and board haven’t done their own learning.

We break down why leadership alignment is essential — and what it means for HR and DEI leaders carrying the work.

Politics doesn’t stay outside the workplace anymore.
It shows up in team meetings, Slack channels, and one-on-ones — often without warning.

Ignoring it doesn’t make it disappear.
It creates confusion, silence, and mistrust.

In our latest blog, we explore how leaders can navigate political tension at work without turning conversations into debates or causing harm.

Beyond Workplace Burnout: Name Culture Fatigue and Lead the Reset

End-of-year energy can feel like a sprint with no finish line. Deadlines pile up, inboxes overflow, and leaders push to “finish strong.”
We call it burnout — but for many teams, the exhaustion runs deeper.

People aren’t just tired from the work.
They’re tired from the culture around the work.

At The Center for Equity and Inclusion, we call this culture fatigue — the slow drain that comes from unclear expectations, inconsistent accountability, and mixed signals about inclusion.
Burnout is about the load.

Culture fatigue is about the container holding that load.
If your team feels stretched thin, don’t rush to add perks or programs. Slow down, listen, and reset how you lead.

Recovery starts when people feel safe to speak truth, ask for help, and belong without having to earn it.

In our latest blog, “Beyond Workplace Burnout,” we unpack:
✅ The difference between burnout and culture fatigue
✅ How to spot early warning signs
✅ Practical strategies for leaders to reset culture with care and consistency

Is DEI “dead”? We hear this question often.

What we know is this: people still need workplaces where they feel safe, trusted, and included. The labels may change, but the work of equity and belonging remains essential. What matters most is how we show up, share power, and lead with care.

We’re continuing the work - together.

We’re doing the work. Want to join us?
