Happy Mothers Day! To the moms showing up even when the calendar is full and the timing isn’t perfect...this one’s for you. 🌸

I’m taking a little trip down memory lane today on the blog.

Back in early 2020, I almost said no to volunteering at my son Dylan’s middle school for Career Day.

Work was busy, my plate was full, and I’d pulled the classic move of offering to be a “backup” …fully expecting not to be called.

Spoiler alert: I was called.

What followed involved poster boards, a laptop demo, candy bribes, and the very humbling experience of trying to make digital marketing sound cool to 7th & 8th graders all while standing next to a fireman.

When it was over, I asked Dylan how he thought it went. His answer is the whole reason I wrote today’s post.

This Mother’s Day, I’m grateful for the yes I almost didn’t say. 🥰

Full story is on the blog. Link in bio.

Some things sit on the list for years. Not because you forget about them, but because life keeps filling in the calendar before you get there. 🌷

We finally made it to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival during bloom season. And it was every bit as beautiful as I’d imagined!

One more reason I love my home state 👏

To the working mom who has ever stress-Googled Easter ideas at 11pm…this one’s for you. 🐣

In today’s post, I’m reflecting on years of Easter holiday hits and misses along with the one working parent lesson that took me waaaay too long to learn.

However you’re celebrating today (big or small, fancy or pajama-clad), I hope you find your version of the holiday magic.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 NFFTY Film Festival in Seattle!

Incredibly energizing to cheer on all of the young emerging filmmakers representing 30 states & 41 countries.

In today’s post, I share a behind-the-scenes look at what it was like stepping into the role of Executive Producer for Mia’s short film titled Cinnamon that premiered on Saturday…a story that hits close to home.

Congratulations to and to all of the talented filmmakers who were part of this amazing festival!

For a long time, I thought “career growth” meant going all in on one path.

One role. One title. One definition of success.

But lately, I’ve been rethinking that.

The idea of a portfolio career has been getting a lot of attention and for good reason. It’s not about piling on more work. It’s about leveraging your skills and interests in a way that makes you more resilient and a lot more energized. Who doesn’t want that?

Earlier this year, I shared a simple 3-step framework I’ve been using to build a portfolio career in a way that supports my core role, not competes with it.

If you’ve been feeling the nudge to explore something more (without blowing up what’s already working), this might be a helpful place to start.

That’s a wrap on Chapter 3 of 12! (And honestly, if the rest of the year keeps this pace, I might need to schedule a dedicated nap for December 31st right now).

As I mapped out the next 90 days on my BAC (aka Big A # # Calendar), I took a minute to reflect on the first quarter.

At the start of the year, I made a simple shift: less rushing, more intention. I started putting what matters on the calendar instead of leaving it to chance.

Here are a few “pinch-me” moments from a very intentional Q1:

1. Wisdom from the Top: A mentor session with Microsoft’s Chief Diversity Officer, Lindsay-Rae McIntyre. Her philosophy on navigating change? “Excellence is always a winning strategy.” (Writing that one on a post-it and sticking it everywhere).
2. The Ultimate Reset: Our first couples retreat in Tulum with the incredible Renee Warren and Dan Martell. A dreamy destination with growth-minded couples that we’ll never forget.
3. The Reality Check: Hearing Gary Vaynerchuk at our Microsoft Frontier Marketing Summit. Gary did not disappoint—his energy and perspective on modern marketing were exactly the jolt I needed. ⚡️
4. The Dream Team: Quality time with work friends at Demandbase. There is nothing better than working with brilliant partners who also happen to be genuinely great people.
5. Supporting Women in Tech: It was an honor to be invited as a guest speaker for Qorvo’s Women in Tech Employee Resource Group.
6. Family Celebration: A quick trip to sunny San Francisco to celebrate my amazing sister-in-law Julie’s milestone birthday with family and friends.

Now, excuse me while I go sharpen my markers for Q2. If you need me, I’ll be standing in front of my giant calendar trying to figure out how to top a trip to Tulum! 🌴☀️

Three months into 2026 and I’m officially a fan of the Big A # # Calendar by

Back in January I decided to try the idea of mapping the entire year visually as an experiment.

Turns out, seeing all 12 months at once is a surprisingly powerful way to plan with intention (and maybe stop overbooking my future self).

Nine months still to go…so if you’ve been curious, it’s definitely not too late to start.

If you want the backstory, head to the Career Insight Studio blog and search: “What Happens When You Plan 2026 the Jesse Itzler Way.”

New year, same busy plate.

Instead of adding more, I’m choosing to get more intentional.

At , my focus for the next 12 chapters is simple: practical insights to help you get ahead without sacrificing your peace of mind.

Here’s to meaningful momentum over a packed schedule and managing life with a bit more purpose this year.

Extra breathing room encouraged.

Cheers to an amazing year ahead.
