Reach for a non-alcoholic beer (NAB) for your next hydration recharge?! Rehydrates like water but better*! I've been following the research on this trend for a while. Don't just take what you want to here and leave the rest- "okey dokey, beer me"! The NAB has to be 2% ABV for do the trick. The benefits are real! Hydrates like water and some: there are vitamins in the bubbly! The inebriation-less brew has been associated with reduced inflammation and oxidative stress (aka when your body does things it produces a variety of crap). As well as exercise recovery. So, would you make you next cold one NAB, you know for your health?

"Countless bars seem to be dressing up basic drinks in nostalgia-inducing accoutrements and putting them on the menu for $2 more than the naked version they couldn’t sell at any price."

I ask, how high can you count sir/ma'am? This is a niche concept, to say the least. But if you are looking to take a risk, set your self apart or inject some light-heartedness into your menu this could be a fun option!

Between Lucky Charms beer, DrunkenD cocktails, and spiked Capri Suns, apparently adults want alcohol to look and taste a lot less like...alcohol.

Herbs were you least expect them. One of my favorite ways to add a flavor layer to a food. In this tart berry twisted citrus muffin I pulverized some fresh rosemary with the orange glasé. To the effect of a subtle, whoa (versus a pow of flavor). It was love at first bite. Orange-rosemary everything! I was inspired by a raspberry rosemary edition I had recently. I love tasting an interesting herb cameo. It shows an elevated consideration in taste building when a chef/baker/confectioner doesn't stop at the expected.
I would like to challenge a maker to use pine! Yes the needle! If you give it a nibble it's surprisingly lemony. The trick would be to pair it with something that can balance that iconic aroma.
Other ways I sneak in herbs: cinnamon in chili, fresh mint in fruit salads, fresh basil in iced teas or fruit drinks. Pumpkin pie spice with a lot of foods: Greek yogurt, bananas, peanut butter, cottage cheese, whole grain breakfast cereals...
