This year has provided us many invaluable lessons, not just in the business world, but life in general. To be cliche, it has been anything but business as usual. As we reflect back over these last eight months, we realize now more than ever the importance of relationships. We truly are blessed and privileged to have a tremendous customer base, many of who have been dealing with us for generations. On top of that we have an amazing staff who have come through during these challenging times. For that we are immensely thankful.

It is no small feat to commemorate 125 years in business, and in a world dominated by conglomerates, you don’t necessarily have to be the largest or flashiest to be successful, as long as you’re surrounded with the right people. It is the relationships built over the years that lay the foundation for success. Let’s close out 2020 on a high note, and put this year filled with uncertainty behind us. Together we can and will persevere! However you decide to celebrate Thanksgiving this year, enjoy, indulge and give plenty of thanks! Stay well!

Just a friendly reminder to our customers that we kindly request the usage of protective masks while conducting business, as mandated by the State. This is about people not politics, and we want to ensure that our staff & customers remain safe!
We appreciate your cooperation!!

Like the recent stretch of summer weather, the copper market is 🔥🔥! After plummeting to 4 year lows back in March, the market has made a stunning reversal, surpassing pre-pandemic levels and closing in on 2 year highs! This bullish momentum certainly won’t last forever, so if you’ve been sitting back patiently, now may be an opportune time to sell your material. Give us a call or send a message for up to the minute pricing!

It’s been a chaotic couple of months as we adjust to this “new normal” of operating, so we’ve decided to give our crew a well-deserved extended holiday weekend. Sorry for any inconvenience... we’ll resume receiving Tuesday morning at 7am. In the meantime enjoy this stretch of beautiful weather and quality time with family.

As we continue to navigate these challenging times, one thing holds true, the health and safety of everyone remains priority number one. In addition to maintaining appropriate social distancing measures and conducting all business outside (zero entry into our offices and buildings), we are also requesting that all customers wear protective face masks. This is a recommended order by the CDC and should not be construed as a substitute for social distancing! We appreciate your full cooperation on these matters as our operation adapts to this new norm. We still highly encourage customers to call ahead for receiving availability or drop us an email at [email protected] for any other inquiries.

May the fourth be with you!!

This is unfathomable, and to think the price has actually appreciated considerably in this morning’s trading. Naturally this has also dragged down a majority of base metals. What an unprecedented 24 hours. Any speculators on oil futures??

This is not how any of us envisioned 2020 starting. Like so many other small businesses we are feeling the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. Essential or not, no amount of contingency planning could’ve prepared us to handle a scenario of this magnitude. It’s certainly sent shockwaves through all markets, and although we’re equipped to weather that storm, there’s a far greater concern. That is the safety and we’ll being of our staff and customers.

As a small fourth generation family owned business, at the core of who we are, is the people we’ve been fortunate enough to forge relationships with over the years. We are truly appreciative of our entire crew and loyal suppliers who have helped shape E. Perry Iron into who we are today. That is why for now, we’ve elected to continue servicing our existing commercial customers albeit on a limited basis while adhering to safety and social distancing protocols. We are not viewing this vulnerable time as an opportunity to gain new business (as this would create unnecessary paperwork, handling and increased exposure), but rather to take care of those who have stood by us. These are unprecedented times and we hope that everybody understands and respects our decisions. We eagerly look forward to brighter days, and a future where we can resume a normalized operation. In the meantime, please feel free to call us for receiving availability, send a message or drop an email: [email protected]

Stay well!!

We are definitely in a unique industry. We want to do our part to “social distance” and limit exposure for our staff & customers, by not allowing anyone inside of our buildings. We also understand that we offer a service that you have come to depend on for over 120 years. This is an ongoing situation that we will be closely monitoring. At the moment we are operating in a limited capacity, therefore we strongly encourage you to call ahead, leave a message or drop us an email: [email protected]

The US scrap metal recycling sector has taken a multi-pronged approach to maintain operations and keep employees safe as the coronavirus outbreak sweeps the nation, with many halting the retail buying sides of their businesses to reduce exposure to the public.
