We’re entering the AI era—and today at in Mexico City I’m unveiling our core to guide us through both its promise and its peril. We’ve distilled decades of human–machine insight into four competing priorities that balance bold innovation with deep responsibility:
• ⚙️ Augmentation over automation – pairing human judgment with machine speed rather than replacing people
• 🧠 Talent over technology – investing in AI fluency and critical thinking before buying more tools
• 🤝 Ethics over economics – establishing fair, transparent AI before chasing short-term savings
• 🎨 Voice over volume – creativity and authenticity matter more than mass-produced content
These decision principles help us generate local AI value, iterate toward exponential impact, measure what truly counts (creativity, trust, engagement, resilience), and design inclusive, sustainable systems.
I’m proud to announce that IAB will adopt this manifesto under a Creative Commons license—just as you can—to drive real change across our industry. I’m partnering with IAB’s committees to evolve this starting manifesto for their context, to empower brands, agencies, and advertisers to harness AI for real, lasting value—tuned to the Mexican context and built on trust.

A manifesto for sustainable and ethical AI usage in industries and society
