The unspoken consequences of global warming and the unabated use of carbon fuels and a capitalistic society…
Because we have not demanded and enacted change from the corporations who use the most carbon based fuel, and polite the most water… and because we have sought to “off-set” carbon use with spending money on reforestation instead of actually reducing carbon use… our planet is exponentially warmer than anticipated…
Why does it matter? Can’t we just use air conditioning, go to the shade? Move inland from the rising waters?
No, you see, there are far greater consequences than simply rising sea levels and deadly heat waves.
the permafrost is melting. globally.
Who cares about permafrost? You should.
Permafrost stores vast amounts of methane in the northern arctic.
Permafrost stores bacteria and viruses we are no longer have immunogenicity to protect us from.
Permafrost also holds our mountain peaks together like glue… otherwise mountains are just loose dirt and giant rocks thrust tens of thousands of feet high.
The first of many mountain peaks has just collapsed in the Alps due to global warming and our inability to hold corporations and governments accountable and force them to action to reduce and end pollutants
