Here's something we hear a lot: "support is cheap, it's basically just the hourly rate." But really, it's not.
Somebody has to supervise the team. Somebody has to check tickets are actually being handled well, not just closed. Somebody has to keep recruiting when people leave. And when a ticket sits too long, that's a refund you didn't have to give, or a customer who just stops ordering.
None of that shows up on one job posting. But of it shows up (subtly) on the P&L.
Your support costs are tough to add up when you're parts that affect the whole business.
