Transforming COโ and organic waste into sustainable growth ๐ฑ
We specialize in Pyrolysis Reactors and Biochar to enhance soil health and promote sustainability. Since the Industrial Revolution, we have harvested energy and products from fossil resources that have allowed us to grow and develop in unprecedented ways. However, usage of petroleum-based fuels poses critical questions about our energy
platforms, environmental stewardship, and future development. We are living in an exciting time where world economies are constantly challenged by environmental problems and scarcity of natural resources, which is further aggravated by increasing consumption and demand for goods and services. Under the premise of sustainability, a group of students and alumni from Iowa State University formed ARTi (Advanced Renewable Technology International) Inc., aiming to achieve zero waste and zero harm to the environment using biorenewable innovations. ARTiโs team devises and implements thermochemical engineering solutions that focus on energy efficiency and utilization of waste materials to address the growing global consumption of dwindling natural resources. One of the companyโs first products is activated biochar (ARTi Biochar), a black charcoal-like substance that is produced through a thermochemical process called pyrolysis. Made chiefly from agricultural residue feedstocks, ARTi Biochar has the potential to remove odors, impurities, heavy metals and contaminants from waste streams, water sources, and gases. ARTi Biochar can be formulated for various specific uses while being more cost-effective and environmentally sustainable than conventional activated carbon, which is generally derived from coal.
