The Gulf Coast Trauma Institute is hosting a free 2-day workshop on the latest stress reduction practices for first responders (e.g., police, fire, EMS, 911 operators) February 6-7 at the Harrison County Law Enforcement Training Facility in Gulfport, Mississippi. We have a few spots remaining! If you know of any first responders, or people who work closely in that field (e.g., victims advocates, attorneys & judges, human trafficking personnel, etc.), please share this opportunity! Attendees included domestic violence and human trafficking workers from four different states. We're so appreciative of the amazing work being done to help some of society's most vulnerable populations!

Hello All! We're a little more than a month away from our two-day in-person and virtual workshop Advances in Trauma-Informed Care: Connecting New Science to Practice! A few updates: to provide more space and potential meal options, we've move the in-person venue to the Kroc Center in downtown Biloxi. Also, we're excited to announce Gulf Coast Center for Nonviolence has graciously agreed to host this event! We've also received CEU approval for Mississippi social workers, Department of Mental Health staff, and educators (teachers, administrators, etc.). Finally, because a two-day workshop can be difficult for some to attend due to time changes and/or scheduling, we're offering a deal that if at least 5 people from an organization register for the event, but can only view the recording, I'll provide an optional 1 hour virtual Q & A session for the team so they can ask questions regarding the content. Hope to see you there!
