Lead instructor, Roy Lopez, is a plank owner of both the Border Patrol's Search, Trauma and Rescue Team (BORSTAR) and the SAR Canine program. He is a graduate of the Massachusetts State Police Cadaver Dog Course and the Border Patrol's SAR Canine Instructor School. Since graduating in 2003, Roy has been instrumental in the development of the Canine Human Remains Detection Course for the Border Pat

rol. and international law enforcement agencies. Roy is a Master Trainer of Police Work Dog Teams for the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA). Prior to the Border Patrol, Roy served his country as a Navy SEAL assigned to SEAL Team 8. Core Canine Concepts is dedicated to the development of the canine handler craft. The goal of this organization is to increase the competency of handlers and canines in their respective disciplines. Teams are first evaluated and the courses are then custom tailored to the specific needs of the teams. Progress is faster because we are able to meet you where you are and modularly advance the training no matter what the level.
