This is a big deal for manufacturing. πŸ‘€

BigRep and Endless Industries just launched a continuous carbon fiber system integrated directly into a large-format 3D printer. The result: parts up to 20x stronger than standard thermoplastics β€” without the multi-million dollar composite setup.

Two years of development. One integrated system.

"Large-format composite manufacturing has traditionally been craft-based or required multi-million-dollar investments. This partnership removes those constraints." β€” Endless Industries CEO

At Merit3D, that's the kind of innovation we love to see. Technology that makes high-quality manufacturing more accessible wins every time.

What would you build if composite-strength parts were finally within reach?

In today’s 3D Printing News Briefs, America Makes announced the winners of its JAQS-SQ Project Call. Axtra3D is partnering with Keystone Industries to expand its dental material ecosystem, while BigRep...

The order grew from 5,000 to 25,000 to 60,000 β€” and because the part was designed for SLA resin printing, scaling it up just meant running more build plates. No tooling, no overseas wait.

A 3D printed drawer handle, made in Price, Utah.

Nylon, full custom profile, no injection mold required. We're sharing this one because it's a great example of where additive quietly opens doors that used to be closed by tooling cost: small runs of custom hardware, replacement parts for discontinued products, one-of-one design work.

Quietly one of the more interesting categories additive is opening up β€” small-quantity custom hardware that rarely had room to exist.

Cold spray copper deposition at 10 kg/hr is letting NMIS in Scotland build rocket nozzle cooling channels in days instead of months.

Traditional copper rocket nozzle work is a slow, careful, machined-and-brazed process. Pulling lead times from months to days changes which programs can even afford to design these parts.

Additive keeps doing this β€” quietly shortening the cycle on parts you didn't realize were a bottleneck.

A fresh PA12 nylon gear :)

No tooling, no minimum order β€” a real production part in real production material. The whole gear-and-bracket world is a quiet sweet spot for additive.

Branded promo pens, mass-produced at the Merit3D shop in Price, Utah.

The customer's logo is printed right into the part β€” no pad-printing or paint step required. SLA resin holds the surface finish, and we can run thousands of these in a day.

If you're working on a promo or awards run, we'd love to talk.

A little behind-the-scenes from the shop.

The grips you're looking at have textures and details built directly into the geometry of the part β€” not pad-printed on after. That difference matters for any product that gets handled hard: the texture doesn't wear off, because it's not a coating. It's the part itself.

We run these on a Photocentric Magna SLA system in DL110HB resin for production volumes, or on a Formlabs Fuse in PA12 when an application wants the durability of SLS nylon.

Today is Memorial Day. We pause here at the shop to remember the men and women who died serving the country.

Merit3D is a small American manufacturer in Price, Utah. The reason we get to do this work β€” build, hire, ship β€” is people who didn't come home so the country could keep going. We're grateful, and we remember.

Some hometown teamwork: these are bow belt-clips we 3D-printed for Alaska Guide Creations, an outdoor gear company right here in Price, Utah.

It's a simple, smart part β€” clips to your belt and carries your bow so your hands are free. Alaska Guide's logo and a grip texture are printed directly into it, in durable resin.

They were one of our very first customers. Still one of our favorites. Local shop, local maker, parts that go out into the field.

A fun one from the Price, Utah shop: we took a metal filter housing and reprinted it as a plastic part.

It's a housing for an industrial slurry vacuum, made for Dustless Technologies. The metal version worked β€” but it was expensive, and the shape was limited by what a machine could cut. The 3D-printed plastic version costs less, and because we could redesign it freely, it actually moves air better.

Cheaper and better is a rare combination. Additive makes it possible more often than you'd think.
