MPS would like to take a moment to highlight the quick actions of one our Team Members and Training Division LT Joseph Adams that led to a life being saved. On Tuesday 9/17/2024 at alproximately 2100 hours while returning his he traversed the Thomas Johnson Bridge. As he approached the top of the bridge he spotted a car stopped. Without hesitation he pulled around the stopped cars to render aid, as he approached he seen an individual sitting on the ledge of the bridge preparing to jump. LT Adams quickly got out of his vehicle and with assistance from another passerby they quickly grabbed the individual later idenfied as a young male approximately 21 years of age, and got him safely into a another car and subsequently transferred care to Calvert County Sheriffs Deputies for transport to appropriate definitive care for the apparent mental health crisis.
