✨ How Do Reindeer Fly? ✨
We get this question all the time… and the answer is pure North Pole science (with a sprinkle of Santa magic).
First, take a close look at a reindeer’s hooves. From the side, they’re wide and flat, shaped a lot like airplane wings or airfoil. Reindeer are fast too. They can run up to 52 miles per hour. When they run, Santa adds a little magic mined straight from the Aurora Borealis ✨
At that moment, the reindeer leap… and their hooves catch the air.
Just like wings.
That lift lets them glide, soar, and even run on air itself.
But flying isn’t enough. Santa has to steer.
To turn the sleigh, Santa gently pulls left or right on the reins. The reindeer look the same direction, and that’s where their antlers come in. The broad, shovel-shaped part of the antler catches the rushing air and works like a rudder or sail, guiding the sleigh smoothly through the sky. Left turn, right turn, easy as that.
So it’s speed, airfoil shaped hooves, clever antlers…
and just enough Christmas magic to make it all possible. ✨🎅🏻
