Some dresses survive a century and still command the room.

Dana Auctions June 13th Fashion Archive Auction includes a rare Victorian black sequined dress with a lace overlay, paisleys crafted from ruffles along the bust and skirt, and a waist belt of black sequins. Fragile? yes, but extraordinary.

A second Victorian dress features pink silk satin trim, gold-toned beadwork along the bodice, and a layer of machine lace.
