Emergency Warming Shelters – Mercer County, WV
Due to extreme cold and incoming winter storm:
• Salvation Army is placing people in hotel rooms today.
• Warming stations open at Matoaka Fire Department and Bluewell United Methodist Church.
Lifeline Youth Building Warming Shelter (Princeton, WV)
• Opens Saturday between 3:00–4:00 PM (setup begins ~1:30 PM after gym clears).
• Expected to remain open through Tuesday morning.
Volunteer Needs�We urgently need volunteers for shifts. Evening volunteers should be prepared to stay overnight if roads become unsafe.�Requirements:
• At least one male and one female volunteer at all times.
• Flexibility to stay longer if needed.
Duties: check-in, supervision, light cleaning, safety/order, and providing encouragement/prayer.
Coordination�Managed by Mercer County Emergency Management in partnership with Love Thy Neighbor Outreach and another nonprofit.
