Copied but true....

Unfortunately, instead of arguing about whether salt “works” or not, we need to start asking a much more important question:

What are private snow contractors supposed to do when we are not allowed to buy salt?

Right now in Michigan, is in one of the worst salt shortages we have seen in over a decade. The state has stepped in to restrict commercial salt sales. Municipalities are being prioritized for what limited supply exists. Cities and townships are being forced to take deliveries first. Private contractors are being rationed, cut off, or told there is simply no product available.

At the same time, nothing has changed when it comes to slip and fall laws.

Private contractors are still being held fully liable if someone falls.
Property owners are still expecting perfect conditions.
Insurance companies are still denying claims.
Lawyers are still filing lawsuits.

That makes absolutely no sense.

You cannot tell private companies they are not allowed to buy salt, then turn around and legally punish them for not having enough salt on site. That is not realistic. That is not fair. And that is not sustainable.

We need to shift the conversation.

Instead of debating salt usage, we need to be asking:

What protections are in place for private contractors during a declared salt emergency?
Why are slip and fall laws not being temporarily modified to reflect material shortages and active storm conditions?
What relief is being offered to private companies who are being forced to operate without access to the very tools they are legally expected to use?
What happens when contractors start walking away from sites because the legal risk is too high and the material supply is too low?

Bulk salt pricing is up 377% percent since the start of the season.
Municipalities are being prioritized.
Private contractors are being pushed to the back of the line.
Crews are exhausted and running nonstop.
Storms are not slowing down.

Yet the legal liability has not changed one bit.

This is not just a contractor problem.
This is a public safety problem.
This is a policy problem.

If the state is going to control the salt supply, then the state also needs to step up and provide temporary legal protection for private snow contractors. That means liability shields, modified standards of care, or emergency provisions that recognize ongoing storm conditions and material scarcity.

We need to talk about this salt shortage openly.
We need to push this subject publicly.
We need to stop pretending this is business as usual.

We need a change. We need you to tag your state rep. Let’s make a change and GET THIS SHORTAGE ADDRESSED NOW! No more staying quiet. We need out state reps to address this issue.

As the year comes to a close, we want to pause and give thanks.

We’re grateful to God for the opportunity to work, to serve, and to do so safely through another year. For the strength to get through long days, the wisdom to make good decisions, and the provision that allows us to keep doing what we do — we’re thankful.

To the communities and organizations that entrusted us with their properties this year, thank you. Caring for shared spaces and high-traffic grounds comes with real responsibility, and we don’t take that lightly. It’s an honor to be trusted with work that affects so many people day in and day out.

Our goal has always been simple: work hard, do things the right way, and operate with integrity — even when no one’s watching. We believe that kind of work matters, and we strive to reflect that in everything we do.

As we head into the new year, we do so thankful, humbled, and committed to continuing to serve with excellence.

From all of us at Lawnworks LLC, thank you for a great year.
We look forward to what’s ahead.

As we celebrate Christmas, we’re reminded of its true meaning — the birth of Jesus Christ, and the hope, grace, and redemption that came into the world through Him.

We are incredibly thankful for the blessings of this past year, and for the trust our clients place in us. Your support allows us to do what we love, provide for our families, and serve our community year-round — in every season.

From our family to yours, we wish you a Merry Christmas filled with peace, joy, and gratitude.

Thank you for a great year.

❄️ ZERO-TOLERANCE SNOW CONTRACTS: Expectations vs Reality ❄️

We get asked this every winter, so here's the answer...

✅ What “Zero-Tolerance” DOES mean:
- We pre-treat lots with brine/salt before the first flake hits (melts the initial snow to reduce total accumulation, keeps it from bonding to the pavement, and makes plowing way easier and more effective)
- We jump on it FAST (usually at 1" or less)
- Multiple trips through the day/night if it keeps snowing
- Priority: keep entrances, drive lanes, and sidewalks safe and open
- Hospital-grade response – we treat it like lives depend on it (because sometimes they do)

❌ What “Zero-Tolerance” does NOT mean:
- We can keep a lot 100% clear while snow is still falling (impossible—no plow on earth beats active snowfall)
- Your lot will look bone-dry in the middle of a blizzard
- Snow won’t blow back, drift, or slide off roofs (that roof avalanche at 2 p.m. isn’t us “missing a spot”)
- We can answer 470 phone calls while running 120 plows in a white-out

In short: Only God can control the weather and stop the sky from dropping more snow.

I believe this needs said again.... If you own a business and want to be successful, seek God. If you aren't saved that needs to be your first step. If you are you need to make God the CEO.

Everything I have is solely due to God and his mercy. Every client, every piece of equipment, everything! I've never sought clients out, God has opened doors and sent people (businesses) to me. I'm a big believer in God's "doors".

Get right and serious with God and He will get serious with you. I pray that He finds the business I run trying to serve Him.

If you and/or your business needs prayer, message me and I will pray for you. I've seen God answer so many prayers that I've prayed for my clients that I've never told them about. He is faithful and true.

This life isn't a competition. I've never tried to compete against anyone. Life is too short, build each other up!
