I do the boring stuff so I can do the fancy stuff.

Rangers Story, he was my 2025 branded Bonanza Mustang and has been the most challenging Mustang so far which is why the thought of getting rid of him has been so difficult for me. Because I’ve put thousands of hours of time into getting him this trained and he still has moments. He reminds me he’s still slightly wild.

First big spook on Ranger but he came right back to his calm self once he settled down.

Feels like my horse is getting broke when I can get the mail from her back and take the package home without a spook.

Enjoy the little moments. ❤️

Life has a funny way of keeping us so busy chasing the next thing that we forget to enjoy what’s right in front of us.

We’re always looking forward to something. The next vacation, the next accomplishment, the next season of life, or simply the day when things finally slow down.

But what if these are the moments we’re going to miss someday?

The quiet mornings. The laughter over something silly. The unexpected conversations. The sunshine on our faces. The ordinary days that don’t seem all that special until they’re gone.

I’m learning that happiness isn’t always found in the big moments. More often, it’s tucked away in the little ones we almost overlook.

Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful. And we don’t have to have everything figured out to enjoy where we are right now.

Someday, we may look back and realize that the little moments were actually the big ones. ❤️

So slow down. Be present. Make the memories. And don’t get so caught up in making a living that you forget to enjoy living.

Have you ever paid someone to do a job, thought they were overcharging, then tried doing it yourself and decided they were actually undercharging? 😂

I’ve felt that way about several jobs I used to take for granted—especially my farrier.

The first time I paid a farrier, I thought it was outrageous to pay that much for something that didn’t take very long. Then I started trimming my own horses. I did that for ten years, and let me tell you, it changed my perspective!

Now I’m so thankful for my farrier. The older I get, the more I want my horses to behave well for him. When they don’t, I’m frustrated for his sake because I know how physically demanding that job already is without a horse making it harder.

That’s why it gets to me when I hear people say farriers or other people doing hard physical work charge too much. I used to think that way, too. But doing the work yourself can give you a whole new appreciation for the person you were paying.

We see the time it takes to finish the job. We don’t always see the years it took to learn to do it well—or the toll it takes on their body.

Sometimes the best way to appreciate someone’s work is to spend a little time in their boots.

Couldn't say no to consigning this boy, he's purebred Andalusian and I've always had a soft spot for that breed so I'm looking forward to finding this guy the right home.
