I have to tell you a quick story!

I helped a couple of guys who got their car stuck after trying to remove the pig trap on our property. They asked my husband for the tractor and I said “ it’s MY tractor and I’ll help you.”
I wasn’t ready to work as I had just showered and put on a little dress, but I went and got the tractor and hooked them up and pulled them out backwards through the property and here’s the greatest line ever —are you ready? The guy said
“I hear that not all superheroes wear capes, but I never knew they wore mini dresses and slippers when they saved the day!”

BIG TIME !

As Kauai moves into long-term recovery from Hurricane Lowell, community organizers are asking for more outside help as the island continues to wait and see whether President Donald Trump will release federal funding for disaster relief.

Kaua’i koa farm post hurricane

09/26/2026

Sandy and Kris Brodie were preparing to harvest coffee growing beneath their sacred endemic Koa trees when Hurricane Lowell tore through their Kauaʻi farm. Most of the koa trees are gone, along with more than half of the coffee trees, cacao, allspice, and many vanilla vines.

They’re working with a small tractor and chainsaw to clear what they can, but dangerous hanging limbs, known as “widow-makers,” still need to come down. Support will help bring in larger machines, safely clear the land, save what can be harvested, and begin replanting by the end of the year, with hopes for a new coffee crop next October.

Six donors have already helped this fundraiser get moving. Please visit the GoFundMe page to donate or share so Sandy and Kris can take the next step. 🌱
