GROUNDED IN PURPOSE
Some of the Most Important Work You'll Ever Do Won't Show Up on an Invoice.

There's a young guy on your crew watching how you handle a bad day.

There's an employee wondering if you'll give him another chance.

There's a family counting on the paycheck your business provides.

And there's somebody out there who may never tell you that the way you treated them made a difference in their life.

I've spent enough years in the fence industry to know that the work we do goes a whole lot deeper than digging holes and stretching wire. And sometimes, the greatest opportunity we have as business owners isn't to land another contract or increase our bottom line.

It's to teach somebody something they can carry for the rest of their life. To show patience when it's easier to get frustrated. To encourage somebody who hasn't quite figured it all out yet.

Don't get so focused on what your business can do for you that you overlook what your business can do through you.

You may never know the full impact of the example you set. But that doesn't make it any less important.
