This folding lawn chair was donated by a friend. The original straps had tattered significantly. We replaced them with a slightly thicker version of the same material we use in our wallets and are stoked with the result! We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for more of these babies :)

Its been amazing collaborating with painter Lorraine LaVista! The graphics on these bi-fold wallets were hand drawn with indelible ink onto textile scraps and then pressed with discarded plastic. See more images of her beautiful paintings at www.lorrainelavista.com.

It's been an honor to work with the talented Ryan Venghaus over the years. The print on this upcycled wallet is from one of his original paintings. Keep pumping out the good stuff big guy.

Loving this collaboration with Cynthia L**h! Cynthia uses a microscope to capture images (in this case a dragonfly wing), and then etches them into copper plates. The results are stunning, and we're super excited that they work perfectly for the application of texture to our recycled material.

Honored to be working in Colombo, Sri Lanka on behalf of Waste for Life. Beautiful place, beautiful people :)

Garbage Art

There comes a time, and it happens often for us, that we make a piece of material that we just cannot bear to slice up for the sake of wallet-making. Some pieces have an innate beauty which simply need to be preserved in their entirety. As our collection has grown, we wanted to make a few of these beauties available to others. These particular pieces of trash need to be proudly displayed.

In order to make this garbage art available, we now have an etsy store!

Don't be alarmed, our regular online shop isn't going anywhere.
We hope that the new etsy store will allow for us a forum to post some of the weirder and more experimental things that get made in our shop.
We have a habit of making some strange and special wallets for ourselves to test new processes, images, etc and we will now be making a lot of these one-offs and prototypes available.

There is a vibrant community of makers and creators over in the wide world of etsy and we didn't want to turn our backs upon them.
For now there are but a few framed masterpieces available, but we will be gradually adding more things in the coming weeks.

There's plenty of garbage out there posing as art, why not own the real thing?
