Believe it or not — just because your house isn’t rife with gaping holes, doesn’t mean pests can’t get in.

So how do I know if I’m at risk for pest infestation?

The obvious indicators are things like cracks in the walls and holes in window or door screens.

But there are a few more subtle clues that, when spotted early, can save you lots of time and money on pest control services in the future.

These would include unsealed windows, unkempt attics, and faulty pipes.

We all know them, we all want to avoid them.

Thankfully, there are some golden rules you can follow to keep your home pest-free.

Here’s our top three:

1) Seal any pest-sized entry points — cracks and holes are the most common ways for pests to get in.

2) Keep your house as clean as possible — if pests can find a source of sustenance, such as crumbs or other food debris, they will move in.

3) Call a pest control company if you suspect an infestation — this will ensure that the problem is identified quickly, and handled before it gets worse.
